Trump Says ‘Life Spared to Restore America To Greatness’ in Victory Speech
According to Trump, “God spared [his] life for a reason” during his victory speech early Wednesday morning at Trump Headquarters.
Two attempts on Trump’s life have been made since July. During his 25-minute speech from West Palm Beach, Florida, he talked about how grateful he was to have been elected to a second term.
“Many people have told me that God spared my life for a reason, and that reason was to save our country and to restore America to greatness,” he said. “And now we are going to fulfill that mission together.”
He said: “The task before us will not be easy, but I will bring every ounce of energy, spirit, and fighting that I have in my soul to the job that you’ve entrusted to me.”
On July 13, at his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, someone tried to kill Trump for the first time.
About eight shots were fired at Trump by a 20-year-old man, hitting the 45th president in the ear and killing firefighter Corey Comperatore. Two more men who were at the rally were hurt as well.
On October 5, Trump went back to Butler and started his rally where it left off three months before, talking about immigration and border security.
Trump was playing golf at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, on September 15 when he was shot at twice.
In the bushes, Secret Service agents saw a man pointing an AK-47 through a chain-link fence one hole ahead of where Trump was playing. They rushed him off the course.
Trump won a big victory on Tuesday when he won the important battleground state of Pennsylvania. This gave him more than the 270 electoral votes he needed to become president in 2024.
