Jordan Driskell, 31, is facing backlash and has sparked debates for using a leash with his five children in public.
ith the tagline, “Come walk a mile in my shoes,” the original post went viral very fast, receiving over 3 million views and over 7,200 comments. Jordan, who has amusingly called his children “pet sperm” in videos he’s uploaded to TikTok, said in a follow-up post that this is his most watched video ever and thanked viewers for “blowing it up.”
But the majority of the remarks were not supportive. Numerous others likened the kids to dogs. Are they rescues? a user enquired.
“Those kids are way too old to be walked on a leash,” said someone else, rather plainly.
One more piece of advice: “Can’t you just raise your kids right?”
Some users were more sympathetic and understanding. Someone said, “You need that with five kids? here we have responsible parenting.
“Considering my 2-year-old tried to bolt into the street, yea we use leashes too now,” said another person who had a similar experience.
One reader responded to the complaints by saying, “For those who are complaining about the leashes, you try keeping track of five little kids.” They appear to be extremely content.
Jordan justified his conduct to moment Parents, explaining “ kiddies are so curious they want to run off and explore. For our own peace of mind and reason, we use a leash. It also allows us to leave the house and do fun stuff as a family without being stressed. ”
He added that a stroller was just too big and big for them, and the kiddies wanted to walk around. The leash lets them safely do that.
The use of leashes for children is a content of debate among experts similar as pediatricians, who extensively differ in their opinions. No major studies have been conducted on the subject, leaving it up to parents to make the stylish opinions for their children. In the end, the internet should maybe hold its proverbial keyboard and let parents navigate their own paths.
