Couple Discovers Ancient Cave on Their Land and Transforms It into a Magical 1,500 Sq Ft Home!
Imagine discovering a secret treasure right in your own backyard. That’s what happened to Amy and Bryant, a couple living in Ohio.
They stumbled upon a large, magical cave on their land and, driven by their adventurous nature and creative ideas, they chose to turn it into a home.
What began as a fun thought quickly became an actual project, and now they and their three kids are the happy residents of this modern cave house.
The process of changing the raw cave into a cozy home was not easy. The couple needed help from experts like a geologist and an engineer to make sure the cave was safe.
The building took seven months, with lots of time spent leveling the floor and smoothing out rocks for flat walls inside.
Even though it was hard work, they kept costs low by using natural materials available around them.
Their cave house is an excellent example of eco-friendly design. The front wall is mostly glass which helps with solar heating while letting in plenty of sunlight.
The south side orientation is great for capturing heat from the sun too!
And even without regular insulation, this cave home uses energy better than most houses because of how well rock insulates naturally.
Step inside to find an interior that mixes modern comfort with gothic style. The family worked hard to create a special space that feels welcoming!
In the dining room sits a custom table along with chairs; meanwhile, the kitchen has black cabinets plus an amazing hood range shaped like gothic arches!
The living room is warm & inviting with tall bookshelves filled with vintage books showing off their love for reading!
There’s also space for playing pool which Bryant really enjoys! The back wall’s natural shapes are perfect play areas for their kids too!
With unique sounds bouncing around from pool games echoing through the area adds fun vibes!
This unique home has two bedrooms each having its own charm. The master bedroom includes a king-sized bed along vintage furniture plus moss on one wall bringing nature indoors!
The second bedroom called “the wine room” has deep red paint matching colors found in rock walls nearby. It also features two Murphy beds ideal for their young daughters!
Both bathrooms balance luxury & usefulness perfectly! In fact, the master bath boasts clawfoot tub alongside shower made directly into rock itself!
Connected bathroom serves guests well while featuring tiles cut just right fitting against rocky walls seamlessly too!!
Looking back at everything Amy & Bryant feel proud about what they’ve accomplished together!! Their labor-of-love stands strong as proof showing off creativity determination vision!!
Their clever way designing homes not only gave them something special but also leaves behind legacy children can cherish forever!!
As Amy & Bryant keep enjoying this one-of-a-kind place (which they rent out sometimes),they inspire others think outside box dare dream big!!
