America’s Beloved Family Tragically Dies in Plane Crash en Route to Concert
A tragic plane crash claimed the lives of seven members of the beloved Nelon gospel family. Among the victims were Jason and Kelly Nelon Clark, their daughter Amber, her husband Nathan Kistler, family worker Melanie Hodges, and pilot Larry Haynie with his wife Melissa. The sole survivor, Autumn Nelon Streetman, was not on the plane and expressed gratitude for the outpouring of prayers and support.
The family was traveling to Alaska for the Gaither Homecoming Cruise when their plane crashed in Wyoming, seen by witnesses as it fell in flames. Emergency responders were unable to save anyone. The Nelons, inducted into the Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame in 2016, were known for their influential songs like “I Shall Not Be Moved.” The National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the incident.
