In church, a little orphan prays for his mother to come get him and says, “I’ll take you.” One day, he hears the story of the day.

Alan, a six-year-old orphan, frequently sobbed in church as he prayed for his mother to come get him. He was crying one day when he was surprised to hear someone remark, “I’ll take you,” from behind him. He had never met the mother he had yearned for, but it was Annette. Annette disclosed that her parents, who disapproved of her pregnancy, had forced her to leave Alan at a shelter when she was a teenager. Her desire to be with Alan had intensified since she was married and had a little daughter.

After having a DNA test that demonstrated their relationship, Annette started action to regain custody. But she had to pay a price to be reunited with her son. Her parents disowned her, and her spouse filed for divorce. Despite the difficulties, Annette found serenity and contentment after moving overseas and raising her two children on her own.

Sometimes the people we least expect are the ones through whom God answers our requests.
