They knew Hidey was in terrible shape when they discovered it on the streets. Although cats are thought to be self-sufficient, certain breeds require frequent grooming. Due to her owner’s inability to groom her, Hidey endured years of neglect. Because of her matted fur, rescuers initially thought she was an alien-like creature.
She was discovered by Paul Russell, who exclaimed, “My god, this is a cat!”An animal-loving couple rescued Hidey, a 14-year-old cat, and brought her to the Animal Rescue League Shelter & Wildlife Center.
Because of her owner’s Alzheimer’s, Hidey was neglected and unable to take care of herself. She came to represent taking care of senior citizens and their animals.
Dan Rossi, the CEO, stressed the responsibility of pet ownership for senior citizens. Hidey’s condition was so bad that she had dreadlock-like fur.
Hidey found a new home with a family member after a medical team shaved her matted fur. The experience emphasizes how crucial it is to assist senior pet owners.
