Hollywood icon Harrison Ford can be described as maturing like great wine. Forty-two years later, the actor who most memorably portrayed Indian Jonson is still working in the business and playing the part.
The 76th annual Cannes Film Festival marked the launch of the most recent iteration of the renowned series. The legendary actor attended a promotional news conference that the Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny cast and crew participated in.
Actor Mads Mikkelsen and director James Mangold stood on either side of Ford.
An unnamed female reporter asked Ford a question, and she started it off by remarking, “Look, I think you’re still very hot.” Ford seems stunned by the unexpected compliment after hearing this. To show that he was shocked by the compliment, the actor blinked slowly a few times. But the reporter continued.
“When you took off your shirt in the second scene, we were shocked to see that you still had it on,” she said. “How do you stay in shape? “Are you able to ride a horse?” she inquired.
After joking with the reporter, the actor thanked God that he was still young.
He jokingly said, “Look, I’ve been blessed with this body. Thank you for noticing.”
The hero of Indiana Jones has had a busy week. At the international premiere of his film Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, he and his wife, Calista Flockhart, made a rare appearance on the red carpet at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France.
The couple’s most recent red carpet appearance was at the Academy Awards in March 2018. Ford was scheduled to receive an honorary Palme d’Or at the Grand Theatre Lumiere, so naturally, the couple made an appearance together.
After his career highlight reel was shown, the veteran actor was given a five-minute standing ovation and exited the audience laughing.
“They say you see your life flash before your eyes before you die, and I just saw my life flash before my eyes,” the actor remarked.
