What Mom Looks Like Without Her Ink
Melissa Sloan, a British mother with over 800 tattoos, has transformed her face over the past decade, adding about three new tattoos weekly. Her commitment to body art has led to employment struggles and social exclusion, even being left out of her children’s school events.
A heavily tattooed mum has revealed she’s banned from ink parlours who refuse to touch her face.
Melissa Sloan, who has been dubbed ‘Britain’s most tattooed mum’, has been inked that many times she’s lost count of how many tattoos now cover her entire body.
The 45-year-old from Wales estimates she has around 100 tattoos – which includes three layers on her face alone – and while her ink is now like ‘an addiction’, it hasn’t come without its issues.
And this includes not being able to get a job and being banned from certain ink parlours, with artists refusing to work on the mum-of-two’s face.
Recently Melissa explained how she hasn’t worked for 20 years due to her unique appearance.
“I have applied for jobs and they look at me and say ‘what is this’, like I’m not a human being,” she said.
“I would love a job and prove them all wrong because all the time they keep saying to me ‘we don’t want to give you a job, no one will give you a job’,” Melissa explained, adding that she’s even offered to ‘scrub toilets’ in the past.
“I’d love to be a solicitor or a lawyer in crime because I always used to be in trouble with the police myself. So I think I could do that job.”
Alongside not being able to find employment, many tattoo parlours have refused service to Melissa, with the mum claiming it’s all down to her facial ink.
“I’m banned from tattoo parlours because my face is full of tattoos,” she claimed. “Some tattoo places don’t do them on faces.
“Tattoo shops shut the door on me – tattooists won’t let me in. When I had this done [my face], there’s one about five miles up the road and they won’t do it.”
But Melissa has somewhat found a way around this dilemma by resorting to doing her own ink, with her partner often stepping in to help.
“I’ve got my own kit and I get it out any time of the day,” Melissa elaborated. “At night, if I feel like a tattoo, I’ll just have a tattoo.”
And it’s not just tattoo artists who have refused Melissa entry into their establishment, with the mum claiming to have been barred from a pub and even being made to watch her child’s nativity play from the window.
“No Christmas parties and when I go to my child’s school I don’t get invited,” she said to the Daily Star.
“They said once for me to go to the back garden look through the class window they told me to do so. The teachers told me to do that, that’s why I don’t go to the school play.”Featured Image Credit: Melissa Sloan
Mum with 800 tattoos is banned from pub for life and school
Melissa Sloan is that addicted to tattoos she now has 800, but this has led to her being banned from the likes of the pub and school.
There is certainly a perception that tattoos can be pretty addictive, when you’ve got one, you want another one.
The problem is they are a pretty expensive obsession, and the bills can certainly rack up if you get inked fairly often.
One woman who is renowned for all her tattoos is Melissa Sloan, who is actually famed for being covered in head to toe in ink.
In fact, the mum-of-two has 800 tattoos, leading her to believe she is the ‘world’s most tattooed person’.
You are probably thinking how often Melissa gets a tat – considering she has so many – well, the mum gets a staggering three a week, which is certainly impressive.
But while Melissa loves tattoos, she is now all too familiar with being left out and not even permitted to enter certain venues because of the way she looks.
Over the years, the 46-year-old has been banned from a variety different areas of life, including work, school, and even the boozers.
In fact, the mum has even been banned from some tattoo parlours as they don’t feel comfortable tattooing her out of fear she has an ink addiction.
Nonetheless, Melissa says there’s ‘nothing she can do about it’ now, though the taste of a nice cold pint in the British summer is surely a big miss.
She said: “I can’t get a job. They won’t have me. I applied for a job cleaning toilets where I live and they won’t have me because of my tattoos.
Melissa claims she had to watch her children’s nativity play last year through the window, as she was not allowed inside of the school.
“No Christmas parties and when I go to my child’s school, I don’t get invited,” she said.
Every inch of Melissa’s head is covered in tattoos, but one layer was not enough for the tattoo lover.
It got to the point where she started inking over her original designs until she had covered her whole face twice.
Since then, she has even done it a third time, meaning the Guinness World Record is on the way shortly, right?
Melissa is that adamant she wants a Guinness World Record to prove she is the world’s most tattooed person.
She said: “I’m trying to get into the Guinness book of records.
“I’ve got three layers on my face, I probably have the most tattoos in the world, and if not then at the rate I’m going on I probably will have in the end – I keep going over and over them.”
